Our Mission is to increase the number of women, men, and minorities in STEAM fields by reinforcing their self-confidence and refining their leadership skills.
Thelina Smith is a motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and a biomedical engineer who uses her platform to encourage women, men, and underrepresented students to engage in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) while reinforcing leadership skills.
Thelina’s ambitious and perseverant history pushes her to constantly seek new ways to positively impact her community and strengthen her leadership. Through her platform, Thelina has accomplished many goals, such as chartering the University of Utah’s first National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) collegiate chapter and reactivating the university’s Society of Women Engineers (SWE), a biomedical engineering ambassador for the College of Engineering program at the University of Utah. As a board member of the Lupus Foundation of America, Thelina has reached new heights, taking her passion and platform to new levels by establishing the SELF-ESTEAM organization and raising aware for both STEAM education and autoimmune diseases.
Thelina is truly grateful and enthused for the opportunity to educate, reach out, and encourage the next generation of leaders, innovators, and educators.
